Baker Beach Barbecue

Organized by yourmanin
Join us for a lazy all-day barbecue on Baker Beach :)

We have the barbecue, charcoal and bench seats. All you need to do is bring yourselves and some food (preferably the grillin' kind; we can even grill vegies if you're vegetarian - sweetcorn and aubergine work well). Bring salads, cheese, bread and any other picnic goodies and drink to share. If you reply that you're coming, post what kind of food you're bringing so we can see what everyone else is bringing and get some variety. We'll end the day toasting marshmallows on the fire and making s'mores.

Baker Beach is located west of the city center in the historic Presidio national park. From the beach there are great views of the Golden Gate Bridge and you can visit nearby Battery Chamberlain or go swimming.

The easiest access from downtown is either by the free PresidiGo shuttle bus (just ask the driver for the Baker Beach stop): http://www.presidio.gov/visit/transportation/Pages/shuttle.aspx#.UitkidJmim4

Or by Muni bus number 29 (Baker Beach is the very last northbound stop, so you can't miss your stop): http://transit.511.org/schedules/index.aspx?m0=1#m1=S&m2=rail&routeid=43927&cid=SF

Otherwise you can just hike or cycle or drive over! There is parking right next to the picnic site.

When you arrive at the bus stop above Baker Beach just walk down Bowley Street towards the beach. Take the first road on the right, Gibson Road, then the first right again down Battery Chamberlain Road until you reach the car park. We will be to the right of the car park as you arrive, in a clearing in the trees.

Look out for our 'CouchSurfing' banner. I'll be wearing a grey 'CouchSurfing' t-shirt and red shorts.. you'll find me by the grill :)
