I'm Not Here To Make Friends: The Art of Reality Television

Organized by Raul Coto Batres
From Andy Warhol's Screen Tests to The Real World and RuPaul's Drag Race, reality TV has become the media format par excellence of the 21st century. As the definition of the genre expands ever outwards (from YouTube fandoms to celebrity boxing matches), the boundaries of entertainment and exploitation become increasingly blurred. This one-night multimedia exhibition will explore the intersections of confession and performance.
