Summer In The City: Young, Gifted & Nina - Tribute to Nina Simone

Organized by EdwardTravels
It's summer in LA - that means outdoor movies, festivals, picnics, bon fires. We've picked some of the best and most interesting, free summer events and festivals in LA.

This Friday, we are once again going to California Plaza, for another free concert at Grand Performances, including a number of voice performers interpreting Simone's most notable works: Joi Gilliam, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Jimetta Rose, Sonja Marie, and an ensemble of L.A.’s finest musicians all led by Musical Director Dexter Story.

Because this should be a POPULAR concert, it's important that people get to the event as close to 7 PM as possible, if they want to sit in a group.

We are able to bring our own food to picnic with and also BYOB to these events, however, this is an ALL AGES Couchsurfing event so all are welcome.

California Plaza has on-site parking for only $7.50 for the event starting at 6 pm; however, it is easy to get to Grand Avenue by public transit. More info here:
