This live-art piece by artist Elizabeth Pedler comes in the format of workshops where you will discuss "a message to the world today” and create a way of communicating your message to the people.
Held at Top Shelf Gallery, Melbourne, these free workshops will be conducted in small groups, where participants will debate and co-produce artwork, as both creators and co-equals.
Workshop times: 1-31 August
Thursday 11am, 2pm, and 6pm,
Friday 11am and 2pm,
Saturday 11am and 2pm.
Each workshop lasts for one hour, with free refreshments offered at the end.
The Communication Project examines the idea of language, and forms of communication across or outside language. Within the project, Elizabeth Pedler also explores the boundaries and deficits of communication - how and why communication may fail. These workshops function individually as artworks but are as much part of an ongoing experiment crossing the borders of art, performance, collaboration and research.
The artworks and documentation will continue on the project’s blog and the Top Shelf Gallery website; expanding the opportunities for further debate and dialogue around language, outside language, and art as communication.
