• Ciao, Surfers! I'm on the lookout for any ways to pick up Italian, whether a local conversation group, a patient native speaker, or a recommended resource. Currently I really only have some 101 vocabulary, no real grammar, so I'd be just listening for a while, but because I already speak French and some Spanish I find it coming quickly. Anyone else interested? The more the merrier...

    Thanks!

the monday meetup can be quite fun. i haven't gone in a long time. Also, the Dante Alighieri Cultural Center in Kendall Square, Cambridge has several classes a year: see http://www.dantemass.org/html/home.html.

i learned italian because of my love for opera. speaking of which, at the Center, on 1/20/13, the Pirandello Lyceum is having the Bel Canto Opera concert. This is the Verdi Bicentennial Concert commemorating his birth in 1813, and will feature arias and ensembles from 15 of his operas.

if anyone is interested in going, let me know. it'll be fun to have a group there.
