• How to get the echo village.

Take Tren Linea Mitre to Tigre. Tigre is the last stop on the train. The ticket from Retiro to Tigre costs AR$1,50.

When you exit the train station at Tigre you will see a traffic circle surrounded by flagpoles. Cross the traffic circle and head in the direction of McDonalds. Next to McDonalds is a tourist information center and a boletería (ticket window) where you can buy tickets for the lancha colectiva (public ferry).

The ferry company that goes to the island is called Interisleña. Ask for a boleto de ida y vuelta (round-trip ticket) to Arroyo Rama Negra. The ticket costs AR$37.00 (AR$18,00 each way plus AR$2,00 boarding tax).

Once you buy your ticket, wait for the lancha which will leave from Rampa 1.

When you board the lancha, the captain will ask you where you are going. You are going to Arroyo Rama Negra, Muelle Yaguarete. There are 2 ferries a day that will let you off right at Muelle Yaguarete, where you will find the ecovillage. If you are not on one of these, ask the captain to let you off at Rio Capitán y Arroyo Rama Negra.

FROM RIO CAPITAN Y ARROYO RAMA NEGRA

You will be let off of the ferry at a muelle municipal (municipal dock) painted green and white. When you leave the dock, take the path heading to the right. This path follows Arroyo Rama Negra. You will follow this path approximately 1,300m until you reach Muelle Yaguarete. Other paths split off of the main path, but you will always keep to the right following Arroyo Rama Negra. On the way you will pass an almacen (general store) and Alpenhaus, a bed and breakfast. Once you pass Alpenhaus, follow the path about 300m more until you reach Muelle Yaguarete. Once you reach Muelle Yaguarete, turn left and take the path heading inland. The path you will take is on the RIGHT hand side of the canal when you are facing inland.

    FROM MUELLE YAGUARETE

If you are getting off of the ferry at Muelle Yaguarete, you will see a path heading inland along a canal. Follow the path 50m and you will see a log cabin on stilts on the right hand side. Welcome to the ecovillage!
