• Hi everyone. :) I'm relatively new to the Counchsurfing experience but will be planning a trip to Cape Town in mid summer 2013, probably around August. Could you suggest things to do/see or places to stay in the area? I'm 24 and Irish but live in London...all couchsurfers welcome in my flat there! Ta!

Hike some of the mountains, the Western Cape has some of the most breath taking scenery on the planet. It costs you naught but your breath.. just be sure to bring plenty of water!
Table Mountain (lots of tourists though, but a MUST)
Simonsberg (gain access to the trail through Tokara Wine Farm)
Also, if you enjoy your wine, the Western Cape is the place for you. Just 30km outside of Cape Town, you'll find the countryside littered with wine estates. Grab some friends or fellow couchsurfers and go wine tasting! Some of the world's best wines come from here. It won't cost you an arm and a leg, just be sure not to drink and drive!
