Travel on a bike all the way? It is adventurous but also risky. If you are not planning to stop in a motel or bed & breakfast at all, imagine how much food and water you will have to carry all by yourself. Not including bicycle repair kit and a tent.

Highway between two cities can be dangerous too, all cars around you will be driven around 110~120 km per hour, the strong wind they create will easily blow you off balance.

Or, if you are thinking of riding bicycle around CHCH. I suggest you check out Cashmere, Halswel and Marley's Hill. Those areas are popular for biking.

There are a number of bicycle shops around CHCH, such as Chain-reaction, just google them on google map. most of them sell bicycles, second hands bicycles.
