• Hi there,

I'm looking for good and reasonably priced antenatal care in Istanbul. I ent to a private clinic for my first check-up but they charge extortionate prices. I speak Turkish and would just like to find a good ob/gyn department in a normal Turkish hospita. Any recommendations much appreciated. Thanks.

If you don't have some type of health insurance (private or social security) and don't want to go to a state hospital (which you can i think but there are bound to be extra long waiting lines) then you'll eventually have to end up paying a lot of money to either clinics or hospitals. If you can't get covered by any type of insurance i suggest you either go to a state hospital (check out this website http://www.mhrs.gov.tr/ but i don't know what's the procedure for foreigners/non-citizens) or try contacting with private hospitals such as Medipol, American Hospital, Anadolu Sağlık Merkezi (they're affiliated with John Hopkins), Alman Hastanesi, Acıbadem Hastanesi etc.
