• I'm planning to take a trip to Montreal soon, and am wondering that there any good poutine place in downtown. And also, are there any bars having wing nights?? :)

Hey there! If you want a good poutine place, I'd recommand these two: La banquise (http://labanquise.com/en/) and Poutineville (http://poutineville.com/en). The first one is more famous but the second one you can make your own custom Poutine. If you can't decide, do both :)

The best poutine in the region isn't found in Downtown Montreal. Both La Banquise and Poutineville are overpriced and overrated to some extent. But if you don't have your own wheels (and let's face it, it might not be worth it to drive around only for a poutine!), of the two options I'd go for Poutineville...

I don't know why everybody talks about la banquise... their fries are so greasy... poutine is very easy to understand, you need crispy fries, a food sauce and fresh cheese (and the right type of cheese), and so most places know how to make a good poutine, but la banquise got known because they make other types of poutines, but their fries are aweful, and so it makes no sense to me that people always point to that one, probably only because it's open at crazy hours and so drunk people eat there and claim that it was good... I personally like too many poutines to point to any, just avoid the food chains... just ask people in the street, wherever you are, where's the best closest poutine...

I like Chez Claudette close to Laurier metrostation after a night out in bars, but I'm not an expert in poutines ;-)

    CHEZ CLAUDETTE

Anaïs got it right. It's a small place but it's way better than La Banquise.
