• Hi there! I'm arriving in Nairobi on January 10th. I'm meeting up with friends in Rwanda shortly thereafter, and I'm trying to decide whether to spend any time in Kenya at all. I already bought a visa, so it seems like I should! But I've heard so many bad things about Nairobi, and how expensive it is to stay anywhere that's not a terrible neighborhood, that I'm nervous to spend any time there. SO I have 2 questions:

    1. Can anyone host me the night of January 10th (I arrive at 11am), and probably the next night as well? Preferably somewhere minimally dangerous and reasonably easy to get to, seeing as I'm a woman traveling alone?

    2. If I can find a place to stay, does anyone want to visit the elephant orphanage (aka David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust) on January 11th? Visiting time is 11am-12pm, and a recent article cited the taxi there as $23 (American) and $5 entrance fee.

    Let me know!
    :) Katie
