My friend's Father Owns a Car dealership in NE I can put you in contact with him if you want :). don't buy anything super major on Craigslist unless you have knowledge.. ex; I wouln't recommend buying a computer on Craigslist unless you know your stuff (I'm a comp Sci major and cert)

BUT that doesnt mean be scared, and always test before you buy anything second hand...

Most people on CS are fair though.

Check out the Philadelphia Auto Auctions. Also i recommend paying a mechanic like 20 bucks or something to spend an hour car shopping with you.

    Good luck :)

also make sure that when you buy a car, you have to register it on site with insurance (some places let you go w/o it). So include those costs.

Hey Michelle, shoot me a PM if you have specific questions on a car. I build race cars, so I know a thing or two. I would second the notion of having the car inspected before completing the purchase, by a specialist in whichever brand it is, Good luck!

    Hey Michelle,
Not sure if you are still looking... but just in case, you should consider the guys at Exton Nissan.. (http://www.extonnissan.com/) they are literally amazing and continuously go above and beyond (or at least did for me and a couple of coworkers :-)..
Anyhow, if interested, let me know and I'll put you in contact with one of the sales managers (or maybe even take you there)...
    Buena suerte!

    a.

p.s. I've bought from CL in the past, and never had issues, though, yes, get your own mechanic to inspect it.

I'm a photographer and I drive 35 thousand miles a year all up and down the north east USA every month. I've beat up a lot if cars and ride them hard. The only car that has managed to keep up and never ever break down is a 2000 TOYOTA ECHO. The new model is called a yaris.
I bought it with 100,000 miles a few years ago and it now has 305,000 still going with no problems. It's not a pretty car but it will never fail you and you'll save a ton of money. It's does 35mpg to 40mpg and you can find them for around $3000 to $4000.
Don't hesitate to buy one with high miles
Shop Craig's list all over NJ to NY and all over PA, don't waist your money on dealership prices
