• Fellow CSers! I somehow managed to get a few weeks of freedom from mid-August to early September, and would like to explore the last frontier of China! I don't have a strict timeline or plan, so I'm open to suggestions. I'll be travelling alone, so I was hoping to find a travel mate or even a group, for part of the trip or the whole way. I'm planning to travel mostly by train or bus. Couchsurfing when possible and staying in hostels/guesthouses otherwise. I'm fluent in Chinese, currently living in Taiwan but going to Hong Kong for school in the Fall. Please reply below or message me if you are interested or have any advice! Thanks in advance!

Kailah! Thanks for the advice. I am indeed realizing just how vast Xinjiang is! It is a little bit overwhelming. Since you've been in the area recently, can you give me some "must-see" places, so I can be sure to put them on my list. Also, have you crossed the border into Pakistan or any other bordering countries? Thanks so much! Justin

Ok sounds good. I've got more time than money, so I'll try to avoid the places that require a ticket. I'm more interested in the culture, food, and natural scenery. Perhaps I will take trains and buses all the way into Kashgar and then fly back out.
