• Hi All,

I have a friend visiting next week and we want to do some wine tasting, probably Jan 2nd or 3rd. I've only lived in SF for a few months and haven't been up there yet. I was wondering if anyone was interested in coming along and/or offering advice. I don't have a car, so we may have to rent one.

Let me know if you'd be interested!

Sarah: I love wine. If you end up planning your trip for the middle of January, I'd love to come with. I like Sonoma better than Napa. The Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma-where Ridge Vineyard's Lytton Springs tasting room is-I think would be worth exploring. I have also always wanted to try the sparking wine that Iron Horse makes. Iron Horse is in Sebastopol.

    Wine Seekers:

Cruise up to Sonoma valley, it's less than an hour from S.F. and beautiful up here right now. You should start your morning at Gloria Ferrer on your way up to Sonoma (James: they have awesome bubbles) and then hit up Sonoma plaza for lunch. I have a tasting lounge downtown you can enjoy some more wine and cheese at, then I'd recommend hitting up one of the first wineries in California (Buena Vista, Bart Park or Gundluch Bundschu Winery) It's a fun full day if you know the best local spots :-)

Let me know if I can help you guys out with any more suggestions

    Cheers!

Hey Sarah, I am looking at doing some wine tasting too. If you do plan something for the 3rd I can make it. I am visiting the SF area and would love to go up the coast to the wineries.

WOW. Thanks everyone for the info! My friend is getting here tonight so we'll talk about. But for now, we're looking at Friday. Would anyone want to pitch in to rent a car on that day?

I'm so excited for wine! Also, I'm used to free wine tasting. Wineries are not allowed to charge for tastings in Michigan. How much do you think we can expect to spend? Also, does anyone know about getting around from winery to winery. Is there a bus tour we can take, or will we just need a designated driver?

    Thanks CS Community!
