• Hi,
I will be in San Fran on the 11th of Feb. I am looking for a temp place to stay. Also if anyone has any advice on moving to San Fran and finding long term housing.

Unless you are dead-set on living in SF proper, you will find much cheaper--and often nicer--housing elsewhere, such as Oakland. Many parts of Oakland are as historic and urban as SF, and just as safe...and you can be in SF in 10 mins from W. Oakland, 15 from downtown, 20 from Temescal/MacArthur or Fruitvale...Oakland has plenty of amazing food, nightlife and arts, more sunshine and more greenery...consider it!

    Hey Ian,

I will be renting out my room fully furnished for 6 months starting April 1st...not sure if that is any interest to you. I think a lot of people are doing AirBnB these days to find temp housing...

    Cheers,
    Jamie

Hello, My name is Catherine. I know a place for free in San Francisco. Go to A Woman Place. google it online. here is the numbers: 4154872140. Call them and ask how to get a bed space there. They give you 3 mos free stay with case manager if you were lucky to get in. Otherwise, there is a drop in center who can help you get a free bedspace also. Ask the front desk from the numbers I have given you.

I moved to the area in September. You will find rents in San Francisco unbelievably expensive. Consider living in Oakland or Berkeley on The East Bay. The commute is easy on BART. Good luck!
