Hey Nick, I just got a yelp marketing internship offer a few days ago. However, I am leaving to Saigon for the year this month. I can connect you with the community director. Doesn't hurt to try.

A lot, have you heard of facebook? See: http://web.archive.org/web/20041203162545/http://www.studentannex.com The tech architecture for StudentAnnex was actually copied by Facebook when they moved from Boston to Palo Alto in the summer of 2004.

When you say tech architecture do you mean the UX?

Yeah, the overall structure with pages, groups, listings, etc and how it should all work. FB has never really been innovative. They prefer to buy/copy innovation like Google and hire “geeks” to make the existing infrastructure better.
