• Hi,
I just want to ask if it's safe and save to bike around Tokyo instead for taking train?
My friend told me to buy the Japan express rail ticket, does it work with the express train inside tokyo as well ? :O
I will travel to Kyoto then Osaka for 6 days then back to Tokyo, is it worth it to buy Japan express railway ticket :O
Thank for reading and have a good day everyone ^_^
p.s if anyone up to exploring the city with me don't hesitate to send me a message.
    peace !

It's the safest city!! Bike is not a problem.
If you are only going to Kyoto and Osaka, you might not need a rail pass. If you take the night bus,it will only cost you 30US$ one way.
    Have a great trip!!

    Thank you Raul,
you are right, I underestimate the whole thing :7
As soon as I get on my lovely pink bike I realize dthat I'm not suppose to ride on the right side, I can't read japanese and my skirt is too long that it got stuck in the bike >_<
Then I saw a yellow, dark grey sky coming toward me. As I turn around the sand storm catch me .. At this point I couldn't pretend to be cool anymore. Not the greatest experience haha.
Thank you very much David but I will safe the bike experience for the next time then ^_^
    Nameste everyone

    Oh, you were already here.
You got unlucky with the dust storm... but anyway sure bike a bit is nice, but not always... I personally mix walking, biking and taking the metro, depending on where I go, the time I have, the weather, etc.
    Anyway, enjoy Japan!

People in Tokyo take the train because they are lazy =P Iäve biked over 10,000 km in the city and it's the fastest (at least within the yamanote line range) and best way to get around.
Be aware that it can be hard to navigate though...
As far as rail pass being worth it or not, it depends, no idea how much it costs... but a night bus return ticket to kyoto and osaka is like 5000 yen so unless it's really cheap you can save money by taking a bus...
