    きずな for Aid ~南三陸町に散歩道と公園を~
(A Charity Party by Kizuna International for "San San Project" in Minamisanriku)

※This party is to raise funds for Kizuna International’s “San San Project” in Tohoku. With the exception of money paid for drinks, all profits from this party will be used for this project.

~What is the “San San Project”?~
It is a project created by Meiji University student members of the Kizuna International volunteer group (more details: https://www.facebook.com/groups/116386331778190/)with the assistance of the NPO OGA for Aid. It involves the construction of a 200 meter path and recreational area in Minamisanriku, a Miyagi Prefecture town devastated by the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami. “San San” gets its name from the “san” in Minamisanriku and the English word “sun”(San in Japanese). The plan is to build a walking path that is safe for elderly people to walk along, and a recreational area that is big enough for children to play in. The project’s aim is to help bring some light and happiness back to the lives of local people affected by the March 2011 disaster.

We need to raise funds to cover the costs of timber and cement that will be used in this construction project.

Finally, Dustin, the 4th year Global Japanese Studies Faculty student who has headed our volunteer group since May 2011 will bow out at this party, and new leaders will be introduced.

In addition to being a charity event, this will be a fun night, with performances, bands, and a DJ. If you’re a student, it’s a chance to party after a hard exam week!
