hi Ahmed, I don't know much about the uni here, but the cost of living in Vancouver is rather high. Depending on which neighborhood you want to live in, you are looking between 800 and 1300 (and even more) for your own apartment (1 bedroom) or about half of that if you have a flatmate. I'm not sure what per diem is, but expect to spend about 2000 to 2500$ a month (obviously depending on your lifestyle) for expenses like bus pass, food, rent, going out etc

Hi! I am born and raised in Vancouver so know it well. Youll probably want to check out the University of British Columbia, thats the big elite university here, theres also the more reasonable and a bit easier to get in Simon Fraser University. there are also many colleges you can check out as well such as B.C.I.T., and Douglas College. you can rent a room here for around 300 dollars Canadian depending where you want to stay, and a studio apartment for around 500 dollars Canadian, a 1 bedroom would probably be around 650 dollars canadian and a 2 bedroom starting around 1000 dollars all on a per month basis with a security deposit down which would generally be half the amount your first months rent costs. check out craigslist.com and go to the Vancouver section to see specific options and areas. if you go to Simon Fraser University you are closer to the suburbs, and would find rent prices around what i quoted you. food all depends on how much you eat and what kind of food you like to eat so i can answer that as of this message but with planning you will find it quite reasonable. if there is anything else i can help you with let me know! good luck :)
