• hi,
I have no idea how to get to the airport from Südtiroler Platz. Is it possible to take the direct train? And what is the cost of the ticket?
    thanks

By train (U-Bahn or S-Bahn) not directly yet (I live two blocks away), you would have to change trains (Wien Mitte, Rennweg) or take a bus (Schwedenplatz) at some point. If you are already there, ask (I don't know German, but English works usually at train stations). I don't know if taking the two S-Bahn trains means paying two tickets or just one (4 euros, I think). My friend took it from Praternstern (two trains) and it was just one ticket, 4 euros, so I am pretty sure it's just 4 euros (Südtiroler-Rennweg-Airport or Südtiroler-Wien Mitte-Airport) even if you change trains, but ask first.

Until I know more about the buses and until I knew more about the trains, I wouldgo take the U1 at Südtiroler Platz, change to U3 in Stephanplatz and reach Landstrasse Wien Mitte and take the train there to the airport. 2 + 4 euros = 6 euros.

But maybe there are buses that reach the airport. Südtiroler Platz has also a big bus terminal and I have used some to Bratislava (just 6 euros) that picked up people at the airport, I don't know if you are allowed to go to the airport only.

Nearby, I think there's also a bus to the town of the airport leaving from behind Amalienbad (Reumannplatz), I don't know for how much and how near the airport.
