About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Give back as others have so generously given to me

ABOUT ME

Relaxed dude with "large place" and a bunch of plants.

I work as an English teacher and teacher-instructor, spend my days on my garden, and then my nights pickling or cooking. This is assuming I'm not out with my rad girlfriend...

PHILOSOPHY

The big risks are often worth it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've got a fairly nice place with a tatami room reserved for passing friends and guests; futons are also available. I wouldn't say I offer tours of Japan, but I can point you in the right direction and keep you on the cheap.

I like weird candy and pocket change - on the occasions I get Cypriot coins or French gummy bears it makes everything worthwhile.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Though not part of couchsurfing I have been offering my place up to friends from JET, EPIC, and several bands on tour.

This is my first such experience on a website, so I hope it's cool.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just keep a scrapbook now; if I had an X-Men ability it would be finding the right place and time consistently

Teach, Learn, Share

Japan (like any other first or second world nation) is populated with an incredible amount of food growing on trees, walls, and anywhere that is not currently paved over. It's exciting to see how life in all forms manage to survive and even thrive in such urban circumstances; and then you can hop on a train for 30 minutes and find displaced morels at the edges of bamboo groves...
