ABOUT ME

My name is Laurenz Benndorf, I was born in Vienna in but I grew up in Graz, where I still live. I'm 22 years old and I'm studying Law at the University of Graz

PHILOSOPHY

Live life to the fullest!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to explore as many parts of the world as possible and I want to gain new experiences and meet new and interesting people. Furthermore, I want to improve my language skills and get to know different and new cultures. I also want to give other people the possibility to get to know my hometown and the region where I live and give them some inside views from a local.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted:
Kleanthis and James from Manchester in November 2010.
Georgia and Martin from Australia and Slovakia in February 2012

I surfed at:
Seattle: Kaifu's place in March 2012

Interests

I'm interested in politics, sports, travelling, reading, writing and I like to go out in the evening with my friends. I love to play pool billiards and I have my own table at home. In winter I also like to go skiing and in summer I like to play football, beach volleyball and I also ride the bike very often.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite movies are Pulp Fiction, The Godfather Trilogy and much more, especially Tarantino Movies. My favourite music is Austrian folk music but I also like international rock 'n roll and pop. My favourite books are "Aus der schönen neuen Welt" by Guenther Wallraff, "Der Hass auf den Westen" by Jean Ziegler and "Manifest des evoultionaren Humanismus" by Michael Schmidt-Salomon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2009 I made an interrail trip through Europe with my girlfriend and it was totally awesome. We travelled for one month and saw incredibly beautiful things. We visited Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Biarritz, Lisbon, Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, Nice, Milan and Venice.
In 2010 we went to Canada and the USA for two months. We travelled all the way down from Montreal, Ottawa, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. to Key West and then we headed north again to Miami. After two weeks in Florida we flew to Chicago, then saw the Niagara Falls (Ontario), went to Toronto and then back home after two of the most exciting months in our lives. Unfortunately we weren't able to stay at any couchsurfers places, but we had a great time and met lots of interesting people anyway.
In summer 2011 I made the most amazing trip in my life so far. I backpacked through Southeast Asia with my girlfriend. We've been to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. It really was the greatest experience in my life so far.
