ABOUT ME

I like to think of myself as a pleasant blend of geek, nerd and dork. Nothing overwhelming, just enough to keep things interesting. I'm often overcome with the feeling of wanderlust...unfortunately I'm not able to satisfy the feeling as often as I'd like!

My father used to be in the military so my family and I lived in Germany and Italy when I was very young. I would love to go back some day and explore all the places that I was not able to appreciate at such a young age.

PHILOSOPHY

After being a very introverted and closed off person for most of my life I've finally broken out of my shell. I'm ready to explore the entire world and all the curious people that inhabit it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I organized monthly meetups back in my old city of Huntsville so that local couchsurfers (and travelers!) could hang out and share stories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I backpacked through Western Europe in July '10 and couchsurfed with so many fantastic people. The trip was incredible and I can't wait to do more couchsurfing! I did it again with my boyfriend in September-October '13!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

When it comes to music it's mostly Indie Rock or Instrumental Rock. The XX, Florence + the Machine, Shearwater, Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, Doves, Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver, Death Cab for Cutie, MGMT, M83, Anathallo, The Klaxons, The Arcade Fire, Crystal Castles, etc. I'm open to a lot of things, though!

I love movies. Children of Men, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Memento, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, 28 Days Later, The Incredibles, Wall-E, Up, Mononoke Hime, Amelie, etc.

When it comes to books I usually read fantasy, sci-fi, or general fiction. To be honest, I have a soft spot for Young Adult fiction. I love the His Dark Materials trilogy. Other books include Lord of the Rings, the Abhorsen trilogy, Ender's Game, the Bartimaeus trilogy, et al. I've been on a classic sci-fi kick lately, so works by Asimov, Bradbury, Bester, Heinlein, etc.

I have a bit of knowledge when it comes to 3D modeling and animating. I'm no expert, but I willingly offer what knowledge I have.

I really need to learn how to cook. :P I sure can eat food, but cooking it is a different story! I will be your willing taste-tester. :D

I'd love to learn more about the creation of various arts and crafts...the more unique/exotic/niche, the better!
