About Me

Couchsurfing is a wonderful concept and it is here to stay.

We are the first generation of Couchsurfers. Think about that. This wasn't possible on a wide scale just a generation ago. Thank you, internet. There are bound to be some issues, this is our first time doing this.

Couchsurfing has also been around long enough for the "good-old-times effect" to appear. Yes, the site was different and people seemed to care more, whereas now it's just bad requests and people wanting a free place to stay. Well, maybe. So what now?

Do we give up on the concept? Of course not :) To share our homes (and by extension our culture and resources) based on a trust-rating system like this just makes too much sense. It's enriching, efficient and fun.

So let's lead by example and show people what potential lies behind this great new concept called "Couchsurfing" :)

Include the word "Shpongle" in your request to give your chances of being hosted an immense boost.

SOME THOUGHTS:

imposition of order = escalation of chaos
nothing lasts...but nothing is lost
you are what you eat ;)

LOVE is my Religion :)

other than that, my religions are as follows:

Monday - Rastafarianism
Tuesday - Agnosticism
Wednesday - Buddhism
Thursday - Subgenius
Friday - Discordianism
Saturday - Shamanism
Sunday - Zen

Order not final and may be changed on a whim.

On each Friday the 23rd I invent my own religion.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

WHEN HOSTING I LIKE TO:

- welcome you into my home as a new, temporary member of the household
- provide you with tips on what to do in Bratislava or where to go next, how to get there and what to do there
- talk to you. about your travels, about your opinions and ideas
- drink good beer while doing the above :)
- maybe combine that with some board or card games
- go walking, running, cycling or hiking with you. Maybe you want to experience a night camping in the Slovak forest?
- cook with/for you. I like to cook. Especially for or with other people. If you ever wanted to taste the Slovak national food "halusky" you've come to the right address! :)

WHEN I SURF OR TRAVEL I LIKE TO:
- talk to you. Get to know who you are and how you live.
- ask you for suggestions on what to do in your city and where to travel from there.
- talk to you in different languages. Improve the languages I'm still weak with and learn totally new things in new languages. Especially how to say "cheers!"
- Learn about local history from you.
- Cook for/with you.
- ideas...always looking for new strange ideas. Maybe you have some?
- eat what local people eat and drink what they drink. What better way to get to know a culture? :)

Music, Movies, and Books

what music and movies I enjoy...does that really matter?

I like to read. But making a list of the books I've enjoyed makes me feel like a person who puts shelves full of books they've never read into their living room just to impress visitors. We can always talk about the ideas we've read in books in person :)
