[for Host]
I am Japanese and a host in Tokyo.
I will share you a lot of stories about my travel more than 40 countries.
I already retired and enjoy my new life such as cycling, traveling, volunteer work in wiped out cities by Tsunami mainly in Fukushima.

[Personality]
I am not party person. I don't smoke nor drink alcohol (but my wife drinks). I would like to enjoy conversation with my guests. I want my guest to be my family during staying and to make oneself at home. For the moment it seems to be succeeded and satisfied when I read References written by my guests.

I love exploring new places and meeting new people. I would like to make my home to be an oasis in Tokyo for experienced travelers from all over the world. I have a page in my blog for traveler visiting Tokyo and Japan that will be something help you;

PHILOSOPHY

"Enjoy your life!" given by my friend in Belgium.
"Be yourself" not like others, given from Cosmos.
"It's not important what you earn, it's what you spend that is important." given by my friend in Australia.
"You raise me up to more than I can be." by a song.
"Those who come are welcome, those who leave are not regretted." as I do everyday.

The disparity between wealth and poverty goes on widening. Rich man becomes richer, poor man becomes poorer. But a movement of 'Share You Own' is one of counter solution I think. The share means not only money and property, also knowledge, education, experience and peace mind among people with good sense. It's very fun if you join.

My favorite word;
"Sho Yoku Chi Soku" word from Buddhism means;
Desire little and know contentment. And it tells you;
"Your mind will be rich if you control your desire and learn to feel."

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: love movies, watched maybe more than 300.
Music; J-Pops, RandB, Jazz, Classic, listen as BGM.
Books; love documentary, novel, history, science, technology, anthropology and global economy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. Carrying Olympic torch in Brazil for Rio2016. Only 200m for each runner but I haven't had such wonderful moment.

2. A round world trip in 2016. I've done a lot of reunion who I hosted.

3. One of my guest said "Japan is the country in another planet". World is full of differences. When I come back from abroad, I every time realize Japan is a kind of miracle country which is clean, safety, organized, gentle, kind, polite, full of piece, beautiful four seasons, free drinkable water ....

4. When you travel in Japan, you may sometimes feel strange. Your Japanese host or Japanese friend in Japan will provide you something what you want before you ask. It's like magic, it's call OMOTENASHI. Japanese have the spirit that they treat you more than their family. And they guess what you want and what you are you going to do. Then they make action before you ask something.

Teach, Learn, Share

I keen on riding bicycle. Also I participate bicycle race and event. I can share about bicycle experience, mechanical tips and traveling information in Japan. Of course I will share my bicycle, mini velo and MTB for couchsurfers. And I can tell you the preferable road not only in Tokyo also all over Japan where you want to go by bicycle.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experience of carrying Olimpic Torch, stories of guests from all over the world, Japanese culture, ... especially bicycle, Japanese, Origami, Japanese calligraphy (Shodo), travel tips in Japan (especially travel in Japan by bicycle), volunteer information in Japan.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Italy, Laos, Luxembourg, Macao, Malaysia, Montenegro, Myanmar, Netherlands, Norway, Paraguay, Poland, Qatar, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Vatican City State, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
