About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony. - Gandhi

ABOUT ME

I'm still trying to discover it... And I think I'll try it untill the end...

What I could say is that I'm a friendly, honest, open minded and open hearted person. I'm always looking on the bright side and trying to change the world. Sometimes I'm a little bit quiet and sometimes I'm really talkative, in fact it depends on the way people receive me or open themselves to me.

I'm vegan and it's a big part of me. I was vegeterian for a long time before being vegan, but now I'm always trying to be as ethical as possible. The main reason of my veganism is animal rights, but of course I'm concerned about the world, the environment and people too.

Almost everyday i'm in a good mood, but I could be a bit sarcastic. But it's just a way to make jokes! The only problem is: I'm not so funny in English :/ hahahaha

I'm a biologist, I use to work with frogs from Mata Atlântica Forest in my master. I love those weird little things. [:

Now I own a small online vegan store and I'm trying to survive from that. It's been difficult, but at the same time gratifying.

PHILOSOPHY

There's always something to learn, share and teach.

I really want to change the world and I think it's possible by changing myself and being that change.

I believe in love and peace. I believe in equality for all humans and non humans being.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I believe in people. I like to meet different people, share, learn and develop myself as a better person. I love to be pushed out of my comfort zone and this is a great way to do that.

I CSurfed in Italy, Croatia, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain and Bolivia. I've had a chance and luck to meet a lot of nice people. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a compulsive reader, but I prefer books that make me think about its story. Those that bother me in certain degree and change something about my ideas and drive me to be someone better. Some examples: Steppenwolf, Demian and Siddhartha (Hermann Hesse); The metamorphosis (Franz Kafka); Fight Club, Invisible Monsters, Survivor (Chuck Palahniuk); Brave new world (Aldous Huxley); 1984, Animal Farm (George Orwell); and books from José Saramago, Lourenço Mutarelli (brazilian writer), and many other writers.

I love movies. Like the books, I prefer those that move or instigate me. Some of them: Pulp Fiction; American History X; The Good, The Bad and The Ugly; Taxi Driver; Gran Torino; Django Unchained; Reservoir Dogs; Scarface; Trainspotting; Into The Wild; V for Vendetta; The Wrestler; Intouchables; The Fighter, Birdman, Her etc. Also, I'm a big fan of animation movies, like Mary and max, The Lion King, Up, Spirited Away, Wall-e, Grave of the Fireflies and so on...

About music I like alternative rock, grunge, indie rock, folk rock, country rock, blues, jazz and others. Some singers/bands I like: Pearl Jam; Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers; Radiohead; The Strokes; The Smiths; Seven Mary Three; Faith no more; Bob Dylan; Johnny Cash; Neil Young; Josh Rouse; The Beatles; 311...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled a lot inside my country (Brazil) and I saw and met the most different people, the poorest and the richest.

I used to be a volunteer in two animal protection NGOs and I that made me keep in touch with the best and the worst part of the human being. On the other hand I saw and felt the unconditional kindness of the animals and it always moves me.
I fight against the mistreatment of animals and people, prejudice and any attitude that despises the weaker ones and minorities.

- Traveling to Amazonian river (Brazil)
- Grand Canyon (USA)
- Plitivice lake (Croatia)
- Backpacking in Europe
- Volunteer in El Hogar ProVegan (Animal Sanctuary in Madrid)
- Starting my own business

Teach, Learn, Share

I think we could learn with anyone, but I like to meet good hearted people who enjoy sharing their experiences and stories.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach about biology, share a little bit about my handwork and drawing abilities (don't expect too much from my abilities hahahaha), I'll love to discuss about life, movies, music, nature, books and almost everything. And I can teach portuguese for sure!

Also, I can share some vegan recipes and try to cook some brazilian (and non brazilian) dishes.
