ABOUT ME

I´m a very curious person who loves to travel, meet new people, discover different cultures and enjoy the best that life has to offer: interact/comunicate with the "others".

PHILOSOPHY

I´m a positive nihilist, therefore, I believe that there´s no meaning for our existence. People and nature are the only true things we can have for shure: whatever happens, we can always figure it out. If not, do not worry, we will! In the meantime, don´t waste your time, seizes opportunities, interact with people, follow what you want, know as much as you can, travel as much as you can afford because life is too short and the world is too big!

I try to help in the way I can: participating in the foruns, attending some events and responding to solicitations. When it´s possible I host.

I like different types of music, maybe I can say that U2 are my favourite rock group.

About books... it´s more difficult! I enjoy learning something from them, so I don´t apriciate just a short romance.. I need more!

Movies:
- "Schindler´s List", by Spielberg, "The Shashank Redemption", by Darabont, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" by Forma and "Inception", by Nolan are some of my favourite!

memorable:

Hanna Frank´s house (in Amsterdam) was a big moment: once your´re inside, chills begin to emerge. You start imagine how depressing it must have been living under the pressure of being caught.

Ennio Morricone: When i was living in Milan I had the wonderfull oportunity to see Morricone alive in Piazza Duomo, for free. It was an entire concert recorded live for CD and DVD. The first time they did this and the last one: awesome!!

Threatening:
On year ago I was caught speeding in the USA. I was driving 100 miles, when it should be 50 miles. The police chases me, ordered me to stop, pointed his gun at me and ordered me out of the vehicle. When I said I was from Portugal, the things got worst! He didn´t new where Portugal was... (Mexico, maybe?)
It was a very serious situation, I was supposedly to go to the jail and wait for the judged. The police gave me a serius sermon and spent nearly 1 hour analysing my profile and the options.
After a long period of time, the police confermed that I was really just a PhD student, working in Triangle Park for a couple of months. I was not running away, I was not a criminal, I was just a normal portuguese girl driving too fast. Oddly enough, the police gave me a warning and told me: "Slow down Mam, please! You will not be able to receive another warning in this state. Next time you´ll really go to jail."
I said: "I´m free? I don´t need to pay anything? So, this is one of those warnings that I'm going to hang in my room (in Portugal) to remember (like a souvenir)?"
Police: "yes", and smiled (this as weird!).
