About Me

ABOUT
Julian: Whatever I don't know I will try at least once. Travelling and Food: those are two interests of mine. The combination of the two is amazing. I love nature and the outdoors. I enjoy relaxing and listening to good music with good people. The last 6 years I've lived in Sydney, where I did a BA in Philosophy and Economics while continuing my professional journey through the kitchens as a chef.

PHILOSOPHY

Julian:I try to be flexible and look for responsibility with myself, not in others.
Every human has a complex mind of their own; they don't serve the purpose to play a small role, may it be the guy selling you coffee or the guy who cut you off in traffic, but actually are all centers of their own lives and realities with you as minor character in the stories of their lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Julian: I had my first couchsurfing experience in Alicante in 2015. Besides the financial advantage, it would be my preferred method of staying in new places anyway. The experiences I had with locals in Spain, but also Senegal and The Gambia, would have been harder if not impossible to find without the insight into local people's lives. I made some good friends and many good memories through Couchsurfing.

Interests

Julian: Cooking, cycling, triathlon, hiking, hitch-hiking, casual sport, travelling, skiing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Julian:
-I've been to boarding school.
-Travelling through Senegal and The Gambia
-I flew to New York without any plans and started working there.

Teach, Learn, Share

Julian: Eager to listen to hitchhiking/travelling/couchsurfing stories.
I've been a chef for ten years and know a thing or two about a nice meal. However, I'd love for you to make or show me a meal that's typical of your region or your background. At university I studied Philosophy so if you're interested in applied ethics, or even just conceptual mind-bending metaphysical stuff, I'm always keen to talk about that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Julian: I can cook fairly well, so If I come over to your place we could perhaps cook something together. I speak English and German fluently so if you need any help with things concerning those languages, I can help.
