About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live in and explore Australia with my partner

ABOUT ME

Of course I love to travel. I have called Canada, England and now Australia home. I met my other half while living in England and after a long year of long distance we have moved to Melbourne to explore and travel and meet new friends.
I love to meet fellow travellers and to just chat about incredible experiences and get inspiration from them at the same time.
My country count is at 43, and do not see myself stopping anytime soon!
I am a friendly vegan who decided to make the switch after 12 years of being a vegetarian ( never any judgement on what other people do, I promise ) I love making delicious healthy food but also have an intense love affair with any type of potato snack.
I enjoy drawing and painting in my spare time and plan to go to art school one day when I feel like I can break away from my true love of travelling.
I would describe myself as a very easy going person that loves going with the flow and always trying to find the bright side of any situation. I would say my strongest quality is my independence and determination to achieve a goal that I set for myself.

PHILOSOPHY

Try not to worry, because everything will work out in the end!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am an expert couchwarmer and try to offer everything I can in means of good company, good food and good stories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first encounter with Couchsurfing was when I was travelling Europe and found myself in a real bind with somewhere to stay. I took the leap of trying out this infamous site and have not looked back. I cannot express how much I love Couchsurfing and all the experiences it has given me so far. The amount of unbelievable people I have met on this site is incredible and I always try to convince anyone I meet who is going travelling to make the switch and try it out.
I have made lifelong friends who I have revisited during other trips. The relationships you make are timeless and unforgettable!
My partner is a fresh face in the couch surfing experience and I cannot wait for him to see what it has to offer.

Interests

Obviously, I am in love with travel. I can never be in a place for to long without feeling the itch to get on the road again. Australia was my first backpacking trip I'm 2010 and it really set my passion for exploring new places on fire! Now I have returned to have further adventures and to find a nice place to settle down for a few months with my partner and show him this beautiful country. Since Australia, the travelling has not stopped. I planned to do a gap year from 2010-2011 and then go to university. Let's just say my gap year has grown quite a bit.
I love art in many forms. Especially illustration and watercolour. I also love to read books, graphic novels, manga, zines, and everything in between.
I am a self proclaimed coffee snob and love doing barista work and working on my latte art.
Feminism is very important to me. I would love to find something I can support and get involved in in the Melbourne scene.
I absolutely love cycling. I have a beautiful bicycle at home that has been with me for many miles and many different countries. I would love to cycle the Great Ocean Road and camp along the way.
I love every and all animals. I need to cuddle as many wombats as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lord of the Rings is definitely my number one movie/book. Better not watch it with me unless you want me to quote the whole thing. I love Harry Potter and will often shout spells where appropriate. Or inappropriate. Go hufflepuff

Like I said I love comics and graphic novels such as Preacher, Y: The Last Man, Love and Rockets, Tank Girl, and a bazillion mangas that would be impossible to list here.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cycling across a Europe for a year with nothing but a few panniers and a tent strapped to my bike.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to share my travelling stories just as much as I love to hear them.
I love making healthy delicious food, but my real specialty shines through with making macaroni and cheese.
I'm a polite Canadian and promise I am an excellent house guest!
