About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore! Places, ideas, societies, jobs, and polite ways to correct grammar.

ABOUT ME

I'm basically predisposed to like people - I get along with almost anyone, since I mostly find people really interesting. (Unless they're jerks. They might still be interesting but I might not get along.) I'm really excited to make traveling more a part of my life, especially to learn about other societies. The histories of people (individuals and societies) are fascinating and relevant to understand the current situation, which I am passionate about. I'm excited about couchsurfing because it seems like such an awesome way to meet the real deals :).

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others the way you want to be treated. I know it's nothing new, but I think it's pretty solid.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a brand newbie, so I'm not really sure yet! I don't have a place to share right now, but I love my city so I'm always happy to show people around and hang out.

Interests

I love art! I am a people photographer, writer, and sometimes designer. I love good unpredictable conversations, painting, drawing and singing. Dancing is awesome (not saying I'm good, I just love it). And I recently discovered I might want to be an athlete! Weird. I like dragon boating, soccer and hiking. I really like to argue, but it is hard to find people who are good to argue with! They have to be strong to take it and give it. I mean arguing about important things, with intelligence and respect. And I love food! And wine! And beer! And people, especially people!

Music, Movies, and Books

Son of Rambow. Death at a Funeral. Amelie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kayaking off the west coast of Vancouver Island. There were 3 meter ocean swells that completely concealed me from the other kayakers. There were thousand-pound sea lions barking away. The sun was high, and the next piece of land was Japan. I have never felt so insignificant and significant at the same time.

Standing nose-to-nose with Van Gough's self portrait. No glass barrier. No velvet rope holding me 3 feet away. No guard sternly telling me to move away. And then walking to the next room and doing the same thing with Rembrandt. And then Chuck Close. I. Loved. The Met.

Teach, Learn, Share

Photography, coffee, and business are things I'm pretty good at and am happy to share. I want to learn Spanish and French, and how to do a back walkover.
