About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To smile and mean it

ABOUT ME

Not really sure what to say here. I am a child of two cultures ( English mother and Greek Father) yet I live in in Istanbul ( call it my attempt to bridge the gaps between nations). Very easy going and relaxed and pretty happy to do most anything from chilling out to going nuts. I love spending a night in a tent just as much as much as I love being a vegetable on a couch with a beer and good computer game.
I am a passionate biker, and to be honest I prefer to do all my travelling by motorbike. This also limits my travelling distance but believe me, travelling overland is a real 'journey' in comparison to the cold teleportation that is modern air travel.

PHILOSOPHY

A risk free adventure is not an adventure!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm pretty new to this so I'm just making a timid start. Lets just say I am big on over-land travel and I believe that the best way to experience a country is through the locals, so I am eager to see your country from your viewpoint. I would be happy to do the same.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Absolutely zero so far, will keep this bit updated though.

Interests

Well, this list could get kind of long. Biking, camping, travelling, reading, films, books, chatting, sleeping, dancing.......eeeeer

  • books
  • literature
  • dancing
  • beer
  • movies
  • reading
  • traveling
  • cycling
  • camping
  • languages
  • mountains

Music, Movies, and Books

Please..... this is not a box which needs filling in. Asking someone to list their favourite movies, music books etc, is as dry as the sahara. Lets just say, I love to sample anything and everything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Camping in the Torus mountains in Turkey and spending some days with the Yoruk people. Hearing the imam call the people to pray in Istanbul. Whilst not a Muslim, it still sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach high school english literature so I guess thats something. I learned Turkish from the street and can also speak fluent Greek and English so can also add those languages to my resume.
Anything to do with motorbikes, riding, and overlanding.
