ABOUT ME

I love travelling, exploring new places and cultures, trying new things, and meeting people from different countries.
I was a freelance travel and music journalist in Cape Town and I traveled through Africa on an overland truck for eight months.
I absolutely LOVE eating food and cooking. I'd love to learn how to cook food from all over the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I live for family, friends and food. Personally, I prefer a good night at home with friends and family, a delicious meal and some good wine than going to a pub. But I also enjoy that from time to time.

Can host every now and then, and hopefully someone will be able to offer up a couch next time I go travelling!

Music - Blues, Jazz, Metal, Classical, Rock, Folk, Indie - the list goes on. Basically anything that sounds good.
(some faves at the moment are, Of monsters and Men, First Aid Kit, The Antlers, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Bon Iver, Killswitch Engage, Times of Grace, The Mars Volta)
Movies - Fight club and Donnie Darko are two personal faves. I love getting lost in a movie...
Books - I always enjoy a good novel. I'm reading 'The girl with the dragon tattoo' at the moment. I have seen both the Swedish and American versions of the book and enjoy comparing them.

I travelled through Africa for eight months on an overland truck with 27 other people I had never met before. We camped the entire time and saw amazing things that I will never forget. Hopefully one day I can go back and see the rest of Africa!

I can teach some English, Afrikaans and cooking to anyone that is interested :) And I hope to learn more about the world and different cultures.
