When I'm not too busy being a nerd, I indulge in Flashpacking and experiential travel around the world. On my cultural and culinary adventures, I like to immerse into all things local and authentic, almost traveling 'like a local'. Paris, Sushi, Bordeaux wine, and Chinese hotpot are few of my favorite things!

I use Couchsurfing to meet new people, esp. locals & fellow travelers, and learn more about their respective country and culture!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met a cool couchsurfer in Reykjavík (Iceland) first during the day {she helped me buy a lopapeysa (Icelandic traditional sweater)}, and then in the evening at the downtown club where she works. I was treated to A LOT of free drinks! Thanks, Max. x

The BiblioTravel genre - containing a story that is set in a distinct country and cultural setting. Great way to learn more about a culture, besides a gripping plot! I loved reading 'Memoirs of a Geisha', and all three of Khaled Hosseini's books.
