About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am about to marry the love I've been waiting for my whole life. Taylor and I have been together for about four years now and will be tying the knot on Sept 27th. She has traveled to a few other countries but has never road tripped across her own USA. Since I am an accomplished road tripper, I offered to give her the CouchSurfing experience for our honeymoon. She loved the idea! So, please, help me introduce her properly to the CouchSurfing experience!!!

ABOUT ME

I am an open minded singer/songwriter who yearns for travel. An outgoing person who loves the outdoors, loves animals (especially dogs), enjoys the arts, and wants to try new things. I appreciate different lifestyles and cultures. My friends would say that I am loyal, compassionate, and lots of fun. They might also say that I am a thinker, maybe a little serious about life and its meaning. Maybe that's the source of my desire to travel...

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that we are all part of something larger... humanity. To me, music is the heartbeat of our collective humanity. I hope to share my life and music with others as well as offer any others help that I can along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been away from CouchSurfing for too long. Excited to get back in the saddle for another road trip!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed for about three straight months all across the eastern and south eastern portions of America. I still have a fair bit of surfing planned in the future. Each and every experience was unique and rewarding. Thanks to CS my adventures have been even more amazing than anticipated!

Interests

Current situation: stagnant from travelling for over a year and dying to take my Queen on a long anticipated vacation/honeymoon!

Previously on Jimmy's World: The majority of my life I have been caught up in society and living the "American dream" Well... I've about had it with that! I want to see the world! Starting with my own country, I actually planned a trip that took me to many of the music capitols of the United States, as well as to some cities where I have connections. I played music everywhere I went. Either street performing or earning gigs along the way. Couch surfing was what enabled me to travel for so long with so little money and resources. Next, I plan on conquering Europe!

Cooking is also a favorite hobby of mine. I want to experience new cuisines, share recipes, and learn new techniques.

I also enjoy many different types of games. From a whole different variety of card games to unique board games.

In hopes to meet new people, make new connections, and try new things, I am reaching out!

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything as far as music... well, anything creative. Xavier Rudd, Bob Marley, Nahko and Medicine for the People, The Wood Brothers, Jack Johnson, Pepper, The Dirty Heads, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Slightly Stoopid, The Jayhawks, G. Love, Ben Harper, The Avett Borthers, Clutch, Tool, Mastodon, Sevendust, Willie Nelson, Tune Yards, Atmosphere, G Love and Special Sauce,Incubus, Iron and Wine, Primus (anything Les Claypool), Michael Franti, Sublime, The Violent Femmes and lots of classic rock.

I tend to prefer comedy, fantasy, and documentaries as far as movies go, but I can enjoy almost anything. I like to read Edgar Allen Poe, Clive Barker and Lovecraft, as well as Pickover, Pinchbeck, Sagan, and many other forward thinkers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Red Rocks, Colorado for a Nahko and Medicine for the People/The Avette Brothers concert. Beautiful hiking! wonderful little town called Morrison! Amazing people. Not to mention, the very first, original Chipotle...

Experiencing Red River Gorge for the first time... actually, that place always takes me back a little. It just makes you feel small. I can't wait to see the Grand Canyon! Machu Picchu is at the absolute top of my list of great places to see.

Seeing Xavier Rudd... Sounds silly, but I admire that man and his music above nearly any other. his songs are so real and diverse. There seems to be a connection with nature and a connection with his crowd that few other artists can reach. I hope to attain a small percentage of that ability and there is no better way than to get there than to experience new things!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have musical knowledge to share as well as many practical things. I have studied history and psychology fairly extensively on my own. Cooking is also a hobby of mine, so I can teach some of the basics as well as a little advanced technique. For over seven years, I worked in the food industry.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Music, food, conversation, love of life, laughs, games, help with chores...
