About Me

ABOUT ME

Friends say that I thrive on the outer edges of my comfort zone, always trying new things and going new places. I’m outgoing, considerate and very responsible. I listen well but I don’t always clearly communicate my own needs, so this is something I’m working on improving!

PHILOSOPHY

I learn the most from traveling and from the people I meet when I travel. The world feels smaller and I can begin to see the connections through personal stories, the differences and the commonalities. I believe that people (some more than others) have the power to effect change and to improve this world through their actions. To do so, we need to become critically conscious of the world we live in.

Interests

I love to travel and immerse myself in different cultures and languages. I like photography, art in general, architecture and nature. I love to dance and to swim. I have a 17 year old daughter, so she’s a huge part of my life and how I spend my time. I’m a teacher and an international trainer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in Guatemala for 15 years and worked with community based organizations, campesinos and Maya. I often spent days in rural villages at people’s homes just listening to roosters, smelling the smoke from fires, walking trails though coffee plantations to waterfalls, seeing snakes, huge butterflies, exotic birds like the Quetzal, listening to people’s stories, eating real food with real people.

I've worked in Palestine and Egypt

Giving birth to my daughter, IxChel!

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach Popular Education and Art. I’m interested in and practice Permaculture and I lived in Guatemala for 15 years. I love to share all of these interests!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a very kind person and fun and responsible. If we really like one another I would be inclined to recipricate by sharing my home (Lake Atitlan).

Andorra, Bahamas, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Egypt, El Salvador, France, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Jamaica, Jordan, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Palestine, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom
