ABOUT ME

Pfff, writing about me?? It sounds quite boring, so let's talk about lemurs instead. Lemurs are a clade of strepsirrhine primates endemic to the island of Madagascar. The word "lemur" derives from the word lemures (ghosts or spirits) from Roman mythology and was first used to describe a slender loris due to its nocturnal habits and slow pace, but was later applied to the primates on Madagascar.

Ok, ok. I know I have to write something about myself as well... Hello, my name is Pavlos. I am a psychopath and a former cannibal. I also like coconuts and chocolate stuff!

Well, I 'll make an attempt to be serious!... I know that we are all here because we like traveling, but let's say I think that I belong to that 2% of people who like it too much and can sacrifice lots of things in order to travel. Honestly, I can't imagine a life without traveling. It sounds too boring and meaningless. I wish I could live for 200 years (or win the lottery) in order to visit and experience every country, region, island etc. etc. that exists, but medicine hasn't advanced so much yet (and the lottery hasn't helped me either, though I once won 2 euros)...

My biggest dream is to travel across the Pacific, visit as many islands as possible there and experience their culture and lifestyle. I don't know if it's just the beauty of those places or their great remoteness and inaccesibility that attracts me so much, but honestly I cannot find a more appealing destination. (I hate too touristy and cliche places as well!).

I also prefer unconventional and alternative ways to travel as adventure is an integral part of traveling I guess.

Do you feel bored reading all those things?... We can always talk again about lemurs! Although lemurs often are confused with ancestral primates, the anthropoid primates (monkeys, apes, and humans) did not evolve from them; instead, lemurs merely share morphological and behavioral traits with basal primates. ;-)

PHILOSOPHY

I had a quite long text here, but I realized it was boring so here is the new version:

The Smurfs exist. Spongebob is not just a sponge! Black toilet papers are better than the white ones. We should have an Easter-version of the Christmas tree. Making a pool in front of the greek parliament is a must. Chocolate should be free for all!

To be continued...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing has made me thinking differently in many aspects. Moreover, the fact that you can learn soooo many things regarding traveling is a huuuuge advantage of this site... I have met quite many people here through gatherings and have surfed quite many times, but I have also hosted some very nice people. Fortunately, 99% of all these experiences were very positive!
