About Me

ABOUT ME

I work full-time in IT at a large Kansas City Corporation. I've done variations of IT for 30 years and still love the challenge. My husband is also in IT (and has been for years too.) We're empty-nesters and mostly live a pretty sedate middle-America lifestyle.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live. Be tolerant of others' beliefs. Know that there is never just one "right" way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We've hosted quite a few people starting in January 2013. We never have surfed ourselves, but sure enjoy visiting with the people that stay with us.

We do have a policy of only accepting requests from surfers with at least several positive reviews.

Interests

Love travel, of course, but don't get to go to exotic places very often. So also love to live vicariously by hearing about others' travels. We both enjoy working out at the YMCA, walking with our dogs, and camping.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite book of all time is Catch-22. My favorite thing to read right now though is Jenny Lawson's blog - The Bloggess: http://www.thebloggess.com

My favorite movie is a mostly-unknown one: Long Kiss Goodnight. I think I like it so well because I have such fun memories of the first time I saw it with a group of friends.

Music: Anything with a dance beat!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hot Air Balloon Ride
Driving through the Rocky Mountains
Riding the rides at the top of the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas
Little things like spending a day in a new place - awestruck at the amazing pockets of culture that are so different, yet so much the same too.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Honduras, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
