ABOUT ME
*** NOTE: Not accepting guests between October 16-November 7. ***
American-Mexican, writer, playwright, freelance journalist, amateur musician, I love the theater, cinema, traveling (of course), photography, art, psychology, philosophy, food, drink and conversation (ideally the three together), meditation, and (God save us) politics, although I won't discuss it unless you want to. Decided after college to breathe free outside of academia and have never looked back. I believe in the maxim of Joyce - "non serviam" - "I will not serve in that which I no longer believe whether it call itself my home, my fatherland or my church."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I first joined Couchsurfing on a trip to Rio de Janeiro in 2012. There, the friend I was staying with recommended that I join to find out about the social events the site was hosting. I did, and it was fantastic: I went to the weekly meetings at Copacabana and also on several group excursions, including a hike up to Corcovado.
Once back in Mexico, I started hosting a bit, and have had some excellent experiences. One of the oldest virtues of the human race is opening your home to strangers and travelers, and I truly believe that travel should not be the exclusive provenanace of the well-heeled, or those who hop from hotel to hotel without meeting people in the places they travel to.
