About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore Humanity and the World

ABOUT ME

I am incredibly sorry about recent requests :/ I was in Austria and forgot to change the status on my couch. I promise I'm not that flaky.

I'm a freshman at Georgia Tech with a double major in Computer Science and Pre-Med. I'm originally from Austria, but I now live in Atlanta. I suppose most would call me a typical hipster- music and searching for any new and different experience dominates most of my free time. I moved to the United States when I was extremely young, but my family and I visited home quite frequently, and my early exposure to traveling around Europe has led me to fall in love with traveling and exploring different cultures.

I've always been quite a bit of a nerd however, and since I was young, have had an affinity for computers and technology in general. As of right now, between studying my majors, I am attempting to start a freelance web design business. This talent for technology led me to my current pursuit for a bachelors in Computer Science, however in reality, I believe my true ambition in life is to help people, which I plan to do through studying medicine, and becoming a doctor. My true dream would be to participate in the Doctors without Borders program if I ever survive all of that school.

In essence, I am simply a guy who loves people. I love different food, music, cultures, stories, anything that has to do with people, so that before I leave this planet I feel as though I have experienced all that I can.

PHILOSOPHY

I personally believe, you have one chance to live your life and so you have to make the absolute best of it, experience all that you can, find out what you want and what makes you happy, so that when you lie on your death bed, you regret nothing...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not much so far, but I'm eager for more

Interests

I do enjoy any and all intellectual pursuits, but my main goal in life is to go out and expose myself to as much of the world and other cultures as I possibly can. Although I am a computer science major at a technology school, and I enjoy most stereotypic nerdy things like computers and nice clean algorithms, I mostly enjoy the simpler things and experiences.

For example, cooking and food are some of my favorite things. I love how sitting around a table and sharing a meal brings people together. In a similar way, I enjoy Music in the effect it has on changing a mood, expressing yourself and helping people connect through shows and like tastes.

Simply, I enjoy whatever makes us humans tick. I love hearing about people's life experiences, trying new hobbies and making stories of my own.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm extremely young, and have only just began to experience the world around me. This last summer, I took all the money I had been saving up and took a month to explore Paris. This was before, I had known about couch surfing, and I explored the city on my own, bouncing from hostel to hostel and staying with people I met on the way. Breathing in the way of life in a completely different culture was life changing and I enjoyed it so much and hope to do so much more.
More recently, I met a homeless couple in Atlanta asking for food for their travels. They were sitting with their dog next to a grocery store, so I went in and bought some bread and hummus and shared it with them. The had been on the road for six years hopping trains, and the stories they told were absolutely amazing. We just sat there for hours and talked. The devotion they had to traveling, seeing and experiencing all that they could experience was absolutely astounding, and altghough, I could never lead the life they lead, I do sincerely want to gather some of those stories and experiences.
