About Me

English ***

Hi! I’m Martin I’ve been living in Córdoba since 2009 and I feel myself as a Cordobés but in truth I’m from La Pampa, a province in the center of Argentina. I always like clarifying this, because I don’t have the famous Córdoba accent.
I live with my boyfriend Guillermo, who is one year older than me. He love travelling as me and he speak like me Spanish, Portuguese and English, but also he speak Russian, German and French, so be sure than in this home we can understand you haha.
My idea about couchsurfing have maturated along the time. At the beginning I used it to receive people at home because I thought that would make easier for me find a host when I travel. Then I had the opportunity of live abroad for a time and CS helped me to make many friends and discover different cultures, so when I returned to Argentina I started again receiving people, but with the idea (and may be the necessity) to share the time, the customs, the culture… After that, the routine obligated me to stop with CS for a time but then I started again and that made me rediscover myself!
I lived abroad twice, United States and Brazil and I have beautiful memories and great friends from each experiences. I studied Law (boring) and I work in Labour Court, but I don’t feel myself as a lawyer, so now I’m finishing a Master in International Relations studying the LGBTIQ movement in Latin America.
One of the most beautiful things I did in Cordoba was to participate for a long time in Cordobesiando a group into the National University of Córdoba who work with students from different parts of the world who come to Córdoba to do an exchange, our mission is to spread the Argentinian and Latin American culture doing workshops about history, music, cinema, dance etc. Cordobesiando, with a philosophy of a world without frontiers, also wants to export our model of open and public university where the students work for others students.
I consider myself as a quiet person, I enjoy reading a book, but also going out. I enjoy talking while we are drinking Mate. At the moment I’m trying to improve my English a little more.

Me gusta hablar mientras estamos tomando Mate.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think things like Couchsurfing help us to be better people. Just think about it, if you turn on the TV or if you read the news everybody are telling you how distrustful you have to be. But suddenly you discover CS and then you are going out or receiving at home (your home!) a completely strange.

Interests

Cuestiones LGBTTIQ
Derechos LGBTTIQ, lucha, reconocimiento
