About Me

CURRENT MISSION

living in Cobble Hill raising a family sustainably

ABOUT ME

We are a young family of four Leah, Adrien, Lilian and Amalia(The LALA'S). ultimately we want to work toward the most sustainable practices in life that we can. always considering the impact of the choices that are made. we live in Cobble Hill, which is a 45minute car ride north of victoria, over the Malahat Mountain. Here we are able to grow food and live in the peace and quiet of the country.

PHILOSOPHY

complete capability of providing for ourselves at all times and being aware of the space we consume.
we also believe that we have been given one another and we are each a gift for one another to learn from and experience but not as a reliance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Leah has been a member since 2006. Adrien joined in 2008 and a month later we met and fell in love. Our children are being raised as couchsurfers and really enjoy hosting! We want our children to understand how to socialize with people from every corner of the globe. hoping that visiting with many different kinds of people will help them become more understanding of people from all different backgrounds.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

couchsurfing has been one of the greatest things in my life. i would have never been introduced to so many minds and hearts had i not began this wonderful journey with couchsurfing. we who understand the core beliefs of the network are integral in positive human connection and growth. and thus i have been given so many guests that have taught me and allowed me to teach. i feel a safety within the community, and an ability to trust. the beginning of my "surfing" experiences were more like crashes, as i was homeless for about two years and living with various friends for a few months at a time. It was good and it was bad. It taught me how to live in someone else's space, how to respect their space and when is a good time to leave. It is most important to remember you are a guest and a member of their household all at the same time.

Interests

good conversation, meeting people in random situations. knowledge, tango, music, reading all sorts of everything, growing my own sustainable garden, studying diet and food habits and plant medicines;culture; health benefits etc. (this list goes on so i will stop here :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

while i was in paramedic school i got the chance to see open heart surgery, and i helped deliver two babies, even caught one of the slippery guys:). being a parent is an amazing experience. one that has taught me humility, understanding and patience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn more people. I want to meet more life mates, people that I can experience goodness from. I want to share a common wealth of mind and spirit.
