About Me

CURRENT MISSION

A world where all can attain their full potential (see reading list)

ABOUT ME

Difficult to describe according to the normal linear narratives people usually use to talk about themselves, so here is an analogy: Consider two real people who are also relatives - Simon Baron-Cohen, "a professor of developmental psychopathology... He is best known for his work on autism..." (wikipedia). I admire his work and his brilliant, innovative theories.
His cousin is Sacha Baron-Cohen, the comedian known for the characters he embodies - Ali G, Borat, and Bruno. I also really admire his work!
It occurred to me that these cousins, seemingly so different, offer a good metaphor for the wildly divergent passions I find in my own personality.

PHILOSOPHY

"...just as your dreams are composed by an aspect of yourself of which your consciousness is unaware, so too your whole life is composed by the will within you. And just as people you have met apparently by mere chance became leading agents in the structure of your life, so too you will have served unknowingly as an agent, giving meaning to the lives of others. The whole thing gears together like one big symphony... one great dream in which all the dream characters dream too..."
Joseph Campbell

other books on various topics: Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteering after the tsunami in Southern Thailand. Aside from the stark reminder of impermanence and seeing lots of death and destruction first hand, it was amazing how people from all over the world just showed up there to help out.
