About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To finish my PhD....and to see the world doing it!
ABOUT ME
I am an anthropologist, specializing in paleoanthropology and bioarchaeology. I have the wonderful excuse of needing to travel to do my research, mainly in Europe. I have also traveled extensively in North America, lived in Australia, safaried (is this a word?) in Africa and spent a lost week on a beach in Mexico.
Just finished a gig with Parks Canada, doing archaeology at Fort George in Niagara on the Lake. Now back in London, finishing the dissertation. Off to Halifax, Nova Scotia in Jan. to teach for a semester.
My pleasures in life include motorcycle touring, tasting beers of the world, hanging with my partner and our dogs, being a lifelong learner and somewhat of a perpetual student...and...I won't go on...
PHILOSOPHY
I am blessed to have the life I have and never want to forget how grateful I should be for that. I want to worry less about money and material objects.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Spreading the word...surfed a few couches and went to a local group meeting. I'd like to be more involved, but there just never seems to be enough time.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Mostly with friends that I made through school or friends of friends. Living in London, Ontario we don't get much demand for a couch. But I am holding out hope!

Music, Movies, and Books
I can pretty much find something of merit in anything, as long as it is not destructive and hate mongering...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have seen many of the world's most famous fossil humans. Pretty damn amazing to see our history from a 400,000 year old perspective.
Teach, Learn, Share
Never stop learning, never stop challenging oneself...always think outside the box (that's a big one to live by!)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food, home brew and a good chat....
History and evolution from a local and global perspective
