About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Satisfy my extreme curiosity of this world by welcoming couch surfers not allergic to cats (Mimi would be devastated) and try to win the award for best couch surfing host of the year!!!

ABOUT ME

I was born in the Saguenay region, a beautiful part of Quebec 500 km north of Montreal, where blueberries apparently are bigger and taste better than anywhere else in the world. Then I moved to the big city to study, and Montreal became my second hometown. I love the diversity here, it suits my burning curiosity for other cultures. I discovered tango 14 years ago and it changed my life. I met wonderful people through it, here and abroad. My first trip to Argentina was definitely a turning point in my life.

PHILOSOPHY

Communicate. Share. Love. Respect. Don't be greedy. Laugh a lot. Help when you can. I will simply quote Henry Miller here : "The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I have been mostly hosting - I just enjoy so much having people over, sharing stories and life experience - I love to cook and show the city to my guests!I also participate to some groups in my city : Spanish practice (with salsa!), monthly group meeting and the tango group.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with people in Buenos Aires and Izmir, and I simply loved getting to know those places "from the inside". It is definitely the best way to travel!

Interests

Tango (not a passion, a disease), music from the World (I would give up my stove before my CD player), growing things (preferably beautiful and/or edible), discussing world politics, taking care of the environment and writing funny short stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A couple of years ago, a friend and I were at Les îles de la Madeleine, the most beautiful islands in the middle of the Gulf St-Laurent - a bit cold, but beautiful. Beaches like you would not believe. We were sitting of the verge of a dramatic red cliff, watching a heartbreaking sunset. Behind us, there was a beautiful house, from which 2 guys came and they walked toward us. They said : "You have a choice. We either push you down the cliff into the ocean or you come to the house with us to drink porto and eat fine cheese and paté". Hum. Tough choice. So we took the porto option and we had the best time ever with these nice people - there were more of them inside - the best evening ever!!!!!

Teach, Learn, Share
