ABOUT ME

There are five of us in the household, if you don't count the animals !

Mel:- Mother Director, psychotherapist , but also studying Ev Psych. I love crafts, cooking, walking the dogs, costume making , apples and gardening & lots of other things !

Dave- in IT like re-enacting crafts, making stuff, garden

Alex:- son Engineer, very busy ! Likes motorbikes. French exchange

Sarah:- Alex's gf Working in an office, likes Zumba

Saffia:- Student Likes crafts & model aircraft German Exchange

My children are the great language speakers, between them we have as a family, in addition to English, fluent French, German and British Sign Language. They are not always around now they are more grown up. But we manage ! Gareth is working on Spanish now !

We are very busy & struggle to find enough hours in the day as life is way too full of interesting things. We are active in charity and community groups and always seem to fit one more thing in so feel free to visit us, we are willing to host as long as we are here !

We have done several long term exchanges in the past, but are not planning anymore currently. I'm enjoying the freedom older children bring !

PHILOSOPHY

Life is an experiance & there is never enough time to do all I want , so I'm living a constantly chaotic life !

Plan as if you'll live for ever but live every day as if its your last

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Quite a lot via Couchsurfing, plus loads on a more casual basis. Particularly when I used to fly the aerobatic circuit.

Also long term exchanges hosting children from France, Germany & Spain.

We love to welcome families but it is a lot of washing, please do your own washing up and strip your beds & even put a load on before you leave. It is fantastic when people do this and makes life easier for me, particularly on work days !

We believe in recycling and reuse. Please remember to seperate the rubbish (I'll get a sign up soon I think to help people do that !)

We love to take time to get to know our guests, but sometimes it is not possible. Please do be prepared to be independant if needs be. It isn't that we want to exclude you but elderly parents, work & kids homework, often don't leave enough hours in the day I'm afraid.

Interests

Animals, kayaking, climbing, history,archaeology,marine biology, Victorian dance active things ! Cooking, talking, exchanging ideas, reuse groups, veg gardening, hydroponics. Heritage apples & micropropagation.

Not that interested in housework, so don't expect a show home !!
