About Me

CURRENT MISSION

A home, a job, world peace and owning every single console game in the world.

ABOUT ME

After trying many things (engineer, roadie, bartender, computer programmer...) I decided that having fun is more important than having money. Although money does help to have more fun, in a f*&ked up way..... So now I work 6 months in a beach club, and travel the remaining 6 months to try and spend al my hard earned cash. Besides that, if there's anything you want to know, just ask. I'm not too difficult about things.

UPDATE

After moving to London for all the wrong reasons, I am now living there for all the right reasons. Have given up the beach to run a bar in this crazy city and will try to get the hang of this place, which isn't as obvious as one might think.......

PHILOSOPHY

Philo-who??? Well, just make life as much fun for yourself and for others as possible. Shouldn't be too hard....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Still going to as many meetings and get-togethers as possible, heavily donating to the local pub industry.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met way too many people on CS events, can't even begin to tell how this has all changed my life. And all for the good. Well, mostly.

Interests

Obviously I enjoy travelling. Can't imagine life without music. Or The Simpsons. Reading, diving, partying, just enjoying life, I guess.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: anything that's worth watching, really. Almodovar is on top of the list, as is Lynch. But I can also enjoy Apocalypse Now, American Beauty, and any good road movie like 'Y tu mama tambien'.
Books: Marquez tops the list here, as does Bukowski. Besides that I enjoy the popular American writers, especially Coupland and Brett Easton Ellis. Or Bryson.
Music: there we go, the tough one.... Tom Waits is pretty close to being God. Manu Chao comes next, especially after having seeing him play and talking to him in Rio :-). As for the disciples: basically anything that's worth listening to. I enjoy the whole Jack Johnson family, alternative bands (Editors, Snow Patrol, The Killers), some party music, depends on the mood, really.... Pretty much into the whole singer-songwriting scene these days.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Diving the Blue Hole in Belize, seeing the Sagrada Familia for the first time, standing on a volcano. A pretty interesting top 3, and carnaval in Rio and Tango week in Buenos Aires are somewhere there as well. Staying in Cartagena (Colombia) and absolutely falling in love with the place. As well as a thousand other things.

Teach, Learn, Share

Ok, probably the only thing worth remembering from all the nonsense I wrote. Smile. Whatever you do, just smile. No matter how angry people get, how hard they keep bitching, just keep smiling. Some people have no idea how to deal with nice people. It distracts them, and they have no clue what to do. Trust me, I'm a bartender....
