About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To become literate in Taiwan.

ABOUT ME

"First of all, I am awesome. That's all you really need to know, but I'll continue anyway..." Tyler Jank, San Francisco CS.

I've been a Couchsurfer since I was 17 years old (I know, it wasn't "legal" Oh well!) and expect to be doing this for a while yet. In NYC I am a very active Couchsurfer and have hosted small and large events alike. I've been so fortunate to have made countless lifelong friends over several amazing years.

Unfortunately, I am incredibly busy in Taiwan and for the most part am regretfully unable to partake in CS events. Sorry ahead of time if I do not respond to your messages.

If you want to see my 1,000+ (no exaggeration) photos of Couchsurfing events, you'll have to check out my Facebook. Which means you'll first have to be my friend, huh?

PHILOSOPHY

"The core of mans' spirit comes from new experiences," Christopher McCandless, Into the Wild.

And we may never meet again, so shed your skin; Let's get started.
Tom Waits, sung by Eddie Vedder

I'm not a vegetable; I will not control myself.
-Radiohead

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

2008 and 2009 were the most dynamic and exciting of my life. It was saturated with constant couchsurfing events and new friends.
...Absolutely incredible.

2010-May of 2011 saw me locked in a cage at university during which I managed to sneak away for very necessary CS bonding and debauchery.

I couchsurf, host when I can, and attend and host as many events as I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A few of the couches I've surfed:
Jonathan Esparza in Miraflores, Peru with NYCSer Kristin Pedemonti.
Tyler Jank and Roomies in San Francisco. (I fell in love with flowers in my hair)
The awesome Adam Kois and John VanGeem in Chicago. [Best couchsurfing experience ever]
Jon Matthis in Albany with Mustafa Meetup Group
-Organizer to CS NPZ Invasion: Oct 10-11th 2009
