About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To help someone else have a better day today

ABOUT ME

outdoor adventurer in every way, triathlete, simple, passionate, always looking for challenges that will make me grow, enthusiastic environmentalist and conservationist, love to read and be inspired, love to talk and share stories, animal lover, romantic, grateful

PHILOSOPHY

I want to experience new places and meet new people so that I can expand my perspectives and ideas about everything. I constantly try to challenge myself in all aspects of my life and believe that this is the only way to grow. Be good to others without expecting anything in return, and appreciate everything you are given, especially the small things. The small things in life make all the difference.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have used couchsurfing to make several new friends all over the world. I have had wonderful experiences with the people I have stayed with and those that I have just met for a drink. I have loved being exposed to new ideas from lots of cool people, and plan on remaining friends with the couchsurfers I have met for a long time. Each one has helped me become a better person, and I am very grateful for meeting them all.

Interests

reading, triathlon, running, cycling, hiking and trekking, snowshoeing, relaxing and talking, barbeques, wildlife, conservation, mountains, almost all kinds of sports (especially basketball), running through the mountains on a cool, sunny morning, cycling up canyons that seem to climb forever, playing with my dogs, watching good movies, campfires, being spontaneous, seeing new places and broadening my mind, classical music and symphonies, acting silly and crazy every once in a while

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

lived in some Madagascar fishing villages working on coral reef projects; worked in the backcountry in Yellowstone National Park and had several close encounters with grizzly bears; swam in a crater lake on top of a volcano at 4200m in Uganda; trekked through the mountains of Poland tracking wolves; seen the mountain gorillas in Rwanda-- Everything is amazing in its own way!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a few things about ecology and the environment, about wolves and bears around the world, but mostly I am here to listen and hear what others have to say. I love to learn anything new, as long as someone is willing to have fun teaching me! I would be glad to try to teach anything, even if I have no idea what I am talking about! I believe we all teach and learn something every day, even when we are totally unaware of it.
