About Me

CURRENT MISSION

The frontiers were created by few non popular interests let the people take them apart and unite in an embrace to construct a new world

ABOUT ME

I am in love with life. I love to share my country's idiosincracy, culture with other persons. I have a daughter that borned in Micronesia in the island of Ponape where I lived for 6 years. I have a small guest house in which I have met wonderful people. The couch surfer will share with my guests except the fee of staying. I belong to a folkloric group that dance Bomba, a black portorican dance with drumings, it is very intense and lovely. I love my students and my courses includes visiting the leather back turtles hatching, or picking coffee in haciendas on week ends. To take them out of the 4 walls of the classroom and let them experience other realities.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a banquet in which you have many choices, sit down and enjoy the best. Dancing is joy expressed in movement

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had now many cs and all of them are different from each other but all of them has been wonderful. Also the ones that I meet at the chat or the forums are great. I took two along with another guests at the guest house to my classroom to share and inspire my students to start caring to explore the world and our own country. It was a very productive meeting between the two groups. Another marvelous thing is to meet the cs of PR because we can support each other and consults doubts. I have Jose Arcadio and Sarah as my mentors for so to say . On the 15th we will have our first meeting and I will take one of my cs guest Maureen an energetic lady that honored me with her visit and knowledge. I just received in the mail yesterday a little pretty package from a beautiful member of cs that is HAPPY from Philipines resident now in Dallas , thank you HAPPY and you will always be welcome. Happy was my first cs.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies- mysteries, love, and documentaries. Books- Latin American literature, like Isabel Allende's book and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. but also I am open to read other new writers from every part of the world. Music most of the one I like is folkloric. I have just read THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH by Ken Follett, it has been a long time that I have not been so captivated by a book as I was in this one, I remember 100 years of Solitude of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, In the NAME OF THE ROSE of Humberto Ecco and this one has been the books that has really moved me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived abroad in Micronesia, in the island of Ponape, a complete different life experience awesome and my daughter borned there. To have her and to choose to have her was a very spiritual and awesome experience. To raise her was an intense experience and to see her now as a young grownup is a marvelous feeling. As adventure experience rapelling at Sokehs rock overlooking the ocean in Ponape, was new, scary but rewarding experience. Travelling with the folkloric group to Mexico, Saint Thomas and Guadaloupe was also rewarding. Dancing is great in my life. Also I opened the first chapter in Puerto Rico of the red hat society and my chapter is called SOMBREROS DE PASION = Passionate hats. It was amazing the big quantity of ladies that I didn't know before that joined, and now we are a big bunch of friends celebrating life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn languages,I will love to share my friends also the folklore and history of my country. Dance is happiness manifested in movement, so I live in a rythmical country that even babies are dancing, so that is one of the experience that I can share to the visitor.
