About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Open a Cafe, Learn to dance Tango the right way, Saving money to travel with whole family in Japan!

ABOUT ME

I'm hosting couch with my partner Scott Writer and our loving dog Angus.

We're friendly, loving to share what we like the most in our neighbourhood, to make your stay like a local too, (or the place you want to escape for, perhaps)

We have lived in Melbourne for 3 years and now we move back to Taiwan and stay in the oldest city Tainan where we enjoy spending every second.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy every moment and appreciate everyone and everything.
Be nice to your mother.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Scott, my partner and I started to participate CS few years ago. Scott has been helped by few CS friends, and we had hosted once when we lived in Taipei. We also host some couch surfers to share what we see and enjoy in Melbourne while we stayed there. Scott and I've moved back to Taiwan 2 years ago with our dog Angus. We're pretty sure that we can share some interesting places with people who are new in Tainan.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A surfer contacted with Scott and came to stay with me and my friend for 3 days in Taipei while Scott travelling in China. That's my first time to know "Couch Surfing" and I joined CS since then.
During our living in Melbourne, we've hosted a couple from Germany, 2 girls, 1 couple from Taiwan, a documentary film crew from France, and many other backpackers, friends of friends. The guest room is very often occupied. We also found we really like to share and help people to enjoy the city too.
We had a short stay in Jakarta in early October 2010 and we meet up with some local couch surfing hosts for a drink and dinner. I think the better way to know the city is meeting up the local couch surfing hosts.
Scott has surfed some couches and I haven't surfed anyone's couch yet.

Interests

I like to grab some bargains in the markets.

I like to see a movies in the early afternoon to escape the hot day and crowds.

I like to study recipes and to cook great breakfast in the morning to make the day.

I like to buy groceries in the local shops and gossip with my neighbours, which support our local small business.

I like to take Angus for a walk in the park and see all the dogs running around each other.

I like food and a glass wine and feel a little bit drunk.

I like to go the the art shows opening to have a glass of bubble and wish the art show is as fresh as the bubbles.

I support LGBT equality, human rights because I have gay friends, aboriginal friends and most of my classmates are refugees who deserves equal rights.

I used to work for political party (DPP)and Taiwan Film Archive, so pretty much interested in politics and films.

I enjoyed touring our guests around Melbourne and hopefully will also enjoy showing more people around my hometown Taiwan.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Japanese detective novels and interested in Japanese culture. I listen to Japanese and Taiwanese Enka while doing domestic work. And I found Ethiopian 60's music sounds very like Enka.

I am studying many cookbooks right now.

I think Indonesian Dangdut is very entertaining, Javanese traditional music is beautiful.

I love 60-70's movies, such as "Il Gattopardo", "Il Conformista" and so many. The arts, design, costumes, photography are amazing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

wore footy socks with sandals when I was 15, and it somehow became trendy in my high school....

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some basic, Taiwan home style cooking, and you can show me what you usually cook at home.

We usually have breakfast at home. We will prepare seasonal fruits, home made scones or bread, granola, coffee (espresso or caffe latte) or tea, sometimes a cooked warm dish like tortilla. It depends on the weather and time we have. We hope you can enjoy the morning with us.

Countries I’ve Visited
